This video below features an annual event at The Kennedy Center Honors where artists who have dedicated their life to performing arts and have made a substantial impact to American culture are honored. This following clip is from the 1996 gala night where the legend Johnny Cash was honored along with other great artists.
During the program, Johnny Cash’s daughter Rosanne Cash came onstage to pay tribute to her dad. She sang “I Walk The Line”, one of Johnny Cash’s classic hit and she left everyone in tears. Johnny Cash released this song in 1956 and it became his first number one hit on the Billboard charts. It reached number 17 on the US pop charts. Johnny had a lot of memories with this song, so it was obvious for everyone to become emotional when her own daughter sang it onstage.
