These Sick Men Abducted A 12 Yr Old. But Who Came For Her Rescue? I Can’t Believe Myself!

Most people don’t know this, but women in the rural parts of Ethiopia, live in a constant fear of getting abducted, raped or being forced into marriages. Nearly 70 percent of the marriages in the country are a result of abduction. Kidnapping young girls in the name of marriage has almost become a “custom.” This is observed in the poverty-stricken areas, where the country’s 71 million people reside.

Seven men abducted a 12-year-old girl and beat her in the name of marriage. She had been missing for a week, and her family was worried sick. Police were searching for her, but they still couldn’t find anything that could lead them to her. It was then that three wild lions decided to take matters into their hands.

The officers found the girl on the outskirts of Bita Genet, but they were shocked by what they saw. The girl was being protected by three big lions that supposedly chased off her captors. Sgt. Wodnimu Wedajo of the police force says that “They stood guard until we found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest.”

Stuart Williams, a wildlife expert, believes that the little girl’s crying might have saved her life.

“A young girl whimpering could be mistaken for the mewing sound from a lion cub, which in turn could explain why they didn’t eat her.”

The town is in disbelief and thinks that the incident that took place was a miracle.

“Everyone thinks this is some kind of miracle because normally the lions would attack people.”

This incident might be divine intervention or a simple coincidence, but it is shocking, to say the least. Four of the men involved in the crime have been found, while others are still being searched.
