Elephants might be listed on the top five intelligent animals on earth, but even they have hard time when it comes to rescuing their babies from a mud puddle. Maybe it is because of the lack of tools! So when a 5 days old baby elephant fell on the mud puddle even his mom couldn’t do anything about it. Mama elephant did however try her best but to vain.
That is when our heroes, a rescue team from Kenya Wildlife Service and Amboseli Trust for Elephants came for help. At first they had to ward off mom and the herd from the pond. When the spot was clear, they used ropes to get the baby out of the mud puddle. It was not an easy job to lift such a heavy baby from the puddle but the men did their best. But the most interesting part of the rescue is when mama elephant, after reuniting with her baby, looked back at the rescuers as if to thank them for the rescue.
